This unorganized blog is basically a bunch of photos from a custom landscape design installation of a NYC townhouse rear yard landscape with custom deck, custom built horizontal fence, all custom buikt planters with built in seating (a planter bench) and a load of professional size and quality trees such as purple plumb, white pine, bamboo domestica, yucca, gold thread cypress,globe blue spruce,hydrangea and more. I love landscaping and trees, shrubs and foliage make me happy!

Sure, there are carpenters and stone workers, irrigation companies etc. available however NY Plantings can be given a concept image and told to "go make it work" honestly, it will get done and look great. After at least a dozen documented installations from concept to completion with our company newyorkplantings managing the project and doing the installation of hardscape and garden ourselves without subcontracting shows that we have what it takes to make it in the landscape contracting trade. Besides the installations, there are
hundreds of smaller projects and installations, garden improvements, vertical gardening, irrigation installs, landscape lighting, tree planting, NYC irrigation installation repair and maintenance services of professional quality. Drawing from a mechanical background and neat, organized garden panting and landscape installation practices from several factors including decades of technical practice, Todd Nappi fitted a dedicated irrigation system and landscape lighting service truck in the form of an E450 dually tool body (an X-plumbing contractors' truck), a little custom painting and we were already offering irrigation systems to our existing landscape, roof garden and terrace garden service customers. It took several months to truly match the quality and skill of the established competitors operating New York based irrigation company businesses for several years prior to our inception. The lack of trade courtesy to our garden company became motivation to work harder and offer more value in our services. As a previous irrigation services client, it was a simple matter of picking up where our competitors fell short. Looks like we did eventually get the job and very thankful we did. Working through December and landscaping in winter is always appreciated!
The ground was frozen like a rock in one of the coldest winters on record.
We excavated 400 bags of soil by hand and the men didn't make a peep to complain.
Morale was pretty good, the materials delivery went well and everyone kept things moving.
Todd Nappi, owner of NY Plantings Garden Designers was there often to manage the project, providing "motivation" in his own special way.
